Living with a Healthy Liver! World Liver Day was observed on 19th April to build awareness and understand the importance of the Liver. According to WHO, Liver disease is the 10th most common disease in India.
Moreover, the Liver is the second largest organ in the body. It is a key player in the body’s digestive system; therefore, the World Liver Day encourages to take care of the Liver.
What does the Liver Do?
It plays a central role in all metabolic processes in the body. The liver produces energy, carbohydrates and fats by converts amino acids in foods. Moreover, it detoxifies and damages harmful toxins or substances that enter the bloodstream. Additionally, it fights infections, regulates blood sugar, makes proteins, and releases bile to help digestion.
The body will easily be damaged if we don’t take care of the Liver because the body cannot survive without the Liver.
Steps to Healthy Liver
As suggested in our Health Tip, the steps to a healthy liver are eating a healthy diet, drinking plenty of lemon water, exercising regularly, getting enough minerals, and avoiding alcohol.
Overall the points mentioned to stay with a Healthy Liver including avoiding excess alcohol, consuming coffee in moderate levels, eating a healthy diet, drinking plenty of water and exercising regularly.
