Swine flu takes 1100 lives in India in 2017

Based on a report in the Times of India, Swine Flu has taken 1100 lives so far. Out of the states that have reported numbers Maharashtra seems to be worst affected with 448 cases, followed by Gujrat with 343 cases.

According to the report the H1N1 strain is different compared to last year as told by NCDC, Delhi and NIV, Pune. The current strain is the Michigan strain while last year it was the Californian strain.

The reason cited for the rampant spread of Swine Flu is the lack of isolation in situations in which you have been contaminated with the virus.
