Based on a report in Deccan Chronicle, Tamil Nadu has a growing burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as Stroke, Type 2 Diabetes, Cancer, and Heart Diseases.
The main reason for this is 99% of Tamil Nadu public eat less than five servings of fruits and vegetables every day and 66% of the population reported low physical activity as per recent NCDs surveillance report. Moreover, the report revealed that start into alcohol in youths was found to be right from the age of 21.
Multiple issues of NCDs are being witnessed in youngsters who take to alcohol, tobacco, and smoking, that contribute to a major proportion of non-communicable diseases.
