Doctors rejoined lady’s cut hand

Based on a report in The Economic Times, Healthworld, in a rare surgery, a team of Doctors at a private hospital in Haldwani rejoined the hand of a lady which was operated from the wrist.

The surgery was lasted for about 11 hours. It was performed on 40-year-old Urmila Rai, a resident of Dineshpur in Udham Singh Nagar, who had her hand cut off by a machine while working at a factory in SIDCUL in Rudrapur.

A team of 6 doctors, including an anesthesia expert, orthopedic surgeon, neurosurgeon and a physician then got to work. Prashant Moon, plastic surgeon, who was a part of the team, told, they could reattach the hand with the body and the patient is recovering gradually.
