Doctors Suspended for Strike

Based on a report in The Asian Age, the striking resident doctors of GMCH said that they are working without security guards for the last 25 days.

About 350 resident doctors of the state-run Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Nagpur were suspended for bunking work since five days. The state medical education minister Girish Mahajan had cautioned the resident doctors, declaring they should restart duty in two days or would have to face suspension.

Dr. Pradeep Kaswan, president of the Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors (MARD), GMCH Nagpur stated, “We need security guards at GMCH for our safety. That is our most important request.
